MANUFACTURING 01
ADVANCED PRODUCT CREATION CENTER

It's a place "where we dream, create, innovate and deliver on the future for NIKE."

ERIC SPRUNK, COO

OVERVIEW

Nike identified a need for multiple innovation teams to live under one roof in order to gain efficiency and be more competitive by bringing new products to market faster.

The Advanced Product Creation Center (APCC), located on the Nike WHQ campus in Beaverton, Oregon, is a highly secure and top-secret facility dedicated to creating the future of manufacturing innovation. Spanning 125,000 square feet, this building allows Nike's design and engineering teams to push boundaries and test ideas before moving to large-scale production. The project is a modern-day tribute to Bill Bowerman, the original Nike innovator whose curiosity and discipline laid the foundation for Nike's culture of innovation.

BRAND HIGHLIGHTS

LOBBY MURAL Bowerman's waffle sole patent number, "3,793,750," is painted on the lobby wall adjacent to the hub as a reminder of the rich legacy of innovation that this team is building upon.

ELEVATED CONFERENCE ROOM The walls, floor and ceiling of the “Franklin” conference room were clad in basketball flooring recovered from Franklin High School in Portland where Bowerman taught biology and coached football in 1934.

CAST CONCRETE IN LOBBY Bowerman's voice is embedded throughout the interior workspace walls and at the lobby where his quote is cast into a 4' raised concrete slab.

CUSTOM BOOTH We designed the booth seats in the hub to match the exact pattern of the original waffle sole.
